Course Description: This course establishes a deeper understanding of the civic accountability, economic, educational, environmental, human-rights, and the political issues and challenges that our society is now facing; thus, utilizing the investigative skills, data analysis, critical-thinking, effective communication, research skills by being honest and prudent.

I. Objectives: At the end of the second quarter, the students are expected to:

A. describe the structure of the Philippine government;
B. enumerate the duties of each branch of the and the departments under them;
C. discuss the causes and effects of political issues such as migration, territorial disputes, political dynasty, political killings, corruption, and inefficient social services; and
D. propose ways on how to play an active role in solving political issues in one’s community and country.
