Course Description:
Through exploration, the learner demonstrates a deeper understanding of basic knowledge and skills in music and art, towards self-development, the celebration of Filipino cultural identity and diversity, and expansion of one’s world vision.
COURSE OUTLINE
Objectives: at the end of the quarter, the learners may be able to:
- discuss events, practices, and culture influenced by colonizers who have come to our country by way of trading;
- design an illusion of depth/illusion to simulate a 3-dimensional effect by using crosshatching and shading techniques in drawings (old pottery, boats, jars, musical instruments);
- present via powerpoint the significant parts of the differnet architectural designs and aritfacts found in th elocality, e.g. bahay kubo, torogan, bahay na bato, simbahan, carcel, etc;
- explain the importance of artifacts, houses, clothes, language, lifestyle-utensils, food, pottery, furniture-influenced by colonizers who have come to our country (Manungguk Jar, balanghai, bahay na bato, kundiman, Gabaldon schools, vaudeville, Spanish-inspired churches).
- create an illusion of space in 3-dminesional drawings of important archeological artifacts seen in books, musuems, and its branches in the Philippines,and in old buildings or churches in the community.
