It will discuss the development of visual arts, from the earliest forms until the 19th century. It will discuss the different process, the important artworks, and artists of an era.
Course Outline – ART 9
This course demonstrates understanding of salient features of Western music and the arts from different historical periods, through appreciation, analysis, and performance for self-development, the celebration of Filipino cultural identity and diversity, and the expansion of one’s world vision.
I. Objectives: At the end of the quarter the students may be able to:
- apply different media techniques and processes to communicate ideas, experiences, and stories showing the characteristics of Western Classical art traditions;
- evaluate works of art in terms of artistic concepts and ideas using criteria from the Western Classical art traditions;
- show the influences of the Western Classical art traditions to Philippine art form.
