This course focuses on the historical, philosophical, and legal foundations of education. The evolution of education, the role of cultural diversity in education, curriculum and assessment, education standards, and issues and trends in education are explored.
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- have a clear and complete understanding of chronological approach in education from the primitive times to the present;
- appreciate educational philosophies as an important influence of judgments and values; and
- explore legal bases of Philippines educational system in its application of ideas and theories in practicing education.
