Course Description:

The learner demonstrates an understanding of the nature of personal health; growth and development; substance use and abuse; and community and environmental health, which helps to achieve optimum health and well-being.

Objectives: at the end of the quarter, the learners may be able to:

  • describe a mentally, emotionally, and socially healthy person;
  • suggest ways to develop and maintain one’s mental and emotional health;
  • recognize signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships;
  • discuss the effects of mental, emotional, and social health concerns on one’s health and well-being; and
  •  demonstrate skills in preventing or managing teasing, bullying, harassment or abuse.
