Course Description

This course demonstrates understanding of music from lowlands of Luzon, its characteristics, elements, and instrumental music selections, through appreciation, analysis and performance for self-development. This is to celebrate the diverse identity of Filipino culture.

I. Objectives: At the end of the quarter, the students will be able to:

A. describe the musical characteristics of representative music selections from the lowlands of Luzon;

B. perform music from Luzon lowlands with own accompaniment;

C. analyze the musical elements of some lowland, vocal, and instrumental music selections.

Arts

Course Description:

This course demonstrates understanding of Arts and Crafts of Luzon (Highlands and Lowlands), its characteristics, and elements, through appreciation, analysis and performance for self-development. This is to celebrate the diverse identity of Filipino culture.

I. Objectives: at the end of the quarter the students will be able to:

A. analyze elements and principles of art in the production of one’s arts and crafts inspired by the arts of Luzon (highlands and lowlands).
B. appreciate the artifacts and art objects in terms of their uses and their distinct use of art elements and principles;
C. creates crafts that can be locally assemble with local materials, guided by local traditional techniques (e.g., habi, lilip, etc).

Physical Education

Course Description:

This component allows students to become more equipped to learn about body mechanics, good posture and sports activities to promote healthy and active lifestyle.

I. Objectives: at the end of the quarter the students will be able to:

A. describes the nature and background of the sport;
B. executes the skills involved in the sport;
C. appreciate one’s health by monitoring periodically one’s progress towards the fitness goals.

Health

Course Description:

This component allows students to make responsible and informed choices to maintain health and to promote safety for self and others. Will develop interpersonal skills that demonstrate responsibility respect and caring in order to establish and maintain healthy interactions.

I. Objectives: At the end of the quarter, the students will be able to:

A. explain the dimensions of holistic health (physical, mental/ intellectual, emotional, social, and moral-spiritual);
B. analyzes the interplay among the health dimensions in developing holistic health;
C. practice health habits to achieve holistic health.
