**Course Description:**

At the end of this course, the students must know how to find mean and variance of a random variable, to apply sampling techniques and distributions, to estimate population mean and proportion, to perform hypothesis testing on population mean and proportion, and to perform correlation and regression analyses on real-life problems.

**Course Objectives**:

At the end of the course, students should be able to:

- apply statistics in solving a real-life problem, such as in decision making and games of chance;
- appreciate mathematics as an essential aspect of day-to-day living and of different disciplines like research; and
- work well with others in a group.
